The Joy of Prayer and Painting
Well, I finished Project 2: Dimensions. (You can check out the pics on my website under the tab (The Joy.....) Anyway, there were many times during this painting that I was ready to throw in the towel. I was looking at Bob like he had lost his mind. Details, details and more details made this painting, well, detailed. My husband encouraged me to just keep painting, just keep painting, painting, painting. I took his advice though and soldiered on. I'm glad too because I really like this one better than the first one and I don't think it is all about the mountains. Well, maybe some. I got to paint some happy little trees for the first time and I also adjusted my "clean up" which made it easier for me the second time.. (Check out my other page for some painting hacks and great links.)
You know, one of the things that I was thinking about through this painting was endurance through prayer. The effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much. I am not talking about just words that some say that sound like a prayer, but they are just saying words over and over in a repetitive way. I am talking about words that your heart is behind; words that you know are true because they come out of THE WORD and He is not a man that He can lie. His Word does not come back to Him void, but goes out to do everything that He called it to do. The world was formed by His words. The endurance I am talking about is not about repeating, but putting the full weight of the Word behind our prayers. Monotonous words do not encourage endurance, but the Word does because it is living and powerful and sharper than any two edge sword. So, I encourage you to put the Word behind your prayers. Search for the scripture that goes with your situation. Stand on it, believe it and watch it work!
