JANUARY 13TH, 2019

Okay....let's talk.  Do you see my hand in the picture above?  Well, have you heard the saying "Back to the drawing board" ?.  That is me, at the sink trying to get the oil paint off of my skin, out of the brushes......and off of the sink.  Ha!  I have painted with other types of paint over the years, but this is my first time taking on oil paint.  Wow.  I was not ready, to say the least.  Slimy would be an understatement.  I had some odorless paint thinner that I had accidentally bought and when Bob Ross said he liked to clean  his brushes in a little odorless paint thinner, I said, "Shut your mouth, Bob!"  Then, I was happy for my happy little mix up at the store.  A little setback, but no worries.

I am not done with this first painting yet.  I will finish this one right over the first week because of my business in Tennessee, but never fear....I am 15 minutes from being done....well.....15 Bob Ross minutes.  I don't know what the conversion into Carrie minutes will be.  We'll see.   I had to readjust and get some new brushes and a new wooden palette. (If anyone has any supplies sitting around you want to donate to the cause...I'm good with that.)  I am definitely going to need some more odorless paint thinner.  Praise God for a new start everyday.  Great is His faithfulness!

I did hear something about prayer today in a new way.  When Jesus prayed, he had a time, a place, and a plan.    I like that.  I would have to add to that too though and say that God told us to pray without ceasing and when Jesus died for us he opened it up so we can go straight to God anytime, any place and talk to Him.  He is our Father.  Our Father, in heaven.....He is so good to us.  So I would encourage you to find a time, a place and have a plan for quiet time with Him with no phone, no kids, no spouse, but also keep the line open 24/7 to talk to Him and more importantly hear from Him.
